FAQS

Members are responsible for their guests' activity in the facility. The member must be present for the guest to use the facility.

When do I have to start paying for my baby to use the pool?
Infants need to have a membership card by 6 weeks, though you do not have to pay for infant guests until they are 18 months old.
What is a "child"?
A "child" admission rate covers guests ages 18months – 15 years. An adult is considered 16+, and these ages are the guidelines set for "adult swim" and "adult only" usage, as well as spa restrictions.
When can my child be left at the pool unattended?
8-12 years old must pass a safety first test (swim 1 lap on front, 1 lap on back and 1 minute treading water). Thirteen and older do not need to do this. Seven and younger must be accompanied by a responsible adult at least 14 years of age.
How old does my babysitter have to be? What do I need to do for their admission?
If the child is 7 and younger, the sitter must be at least 14 years old. An 8-12 y/o must pass safety first to be left unsupervised. A long-term guest membership may be added to existing memberships – contact member services for details at 410.730.1802. Guest passes may also be used for a babysitter. The number of children observed by a single person may not exceed 5 children less than 8 years of age, or 10 children total.
If I have a membership at indoor facilities, can I use the outdoor pools?
Yes, but you must pay the daily admission fee.
What is Second Sunday Swim?
CA residents (holding a resident card) are offered the opportunity to use the pools free of charge on June 8, July 13, and Aug 10. CA resident cards MUST be obtained from Membership services prior to use of the facility.
How does a resident card work? Who is considered a resident?
A resident card allows us to verify the guest lives or works on CPRA assessed property and pays the CPRA tax. CA resident cards may be obtained at the Welcome Center, located at CA headquarters, 10221 Wincopin Circle, at no cost. Address verification in the form of a driver's license or imprinted personal check and dependent children's birth certificates is required to obtain the resident card. For more information, call 410.7630.1802.
Do you provide Senior discounts? Are there Senior Swim hours?
Senior Swim is offered at DG (Tu 12-3; ends Aug. 5), HG (W 12-3; ends Aug. 6), LP (Fr 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.; ends August 8). Admission for members is free, and nonmembers is $5. We do not offer a senior discount during normal operational hours.
How do I get guest passes? How do I use them?
Guest passes may be purchased at the Aquatics office, Swim Center, Columbia Gym, Supreme Sports Club, Athletic Club, or at the Welcome center. They may be purchased in groups of 5 (DBS-$40 Other-$50) or 10 (DBS-$70 Other-$80). Guest passes are electronic and will be deducted at admission via the facilities' computer. Typically a child requires half a guest pass, while an adult requires a full guest pass.
How often may the same guest use the facilities?
A guest living on CPRA assessed property/Howard County may have a total of six visits per year, to any CA facility. Guests not living in the area may be admitted as often as they choose.
What if the pool is closed during my swim for inclement weather, etc?
If the pass has been in use for 1 hour, it is not refunded should the facility close. In the event of inclement weather or other circumstance before that time, the staff may issue a "rain check" to the patron. It is advised the patron keep the white copy of their receipt to enable the staff to accommodate this need.
What form of identification is acceptable for pool admission?
A CA card is preferable, but any form of photo identification is acceptable. To protect your account from abuse, members and residents will not be admitted without photo ID.
If a resident card holder is taking lessons in the morning (when the pool is closed), and they want to stay later (when the pool is open for the day), can they?
Residents staying after lessons must pay the daily admission fee once the pool becomes open for general use.
